The Czech Republic international left the club in the summer to join Arsenal, and has had a dazzling maiden season for his new club so far.
But the 33-year old believes the reigning Premier League champions will bounce back to fight for the title again.
“Their form surprises me because Chelsea are among the best in the Premier League.” he told iDNES.
“I am no longer there, so it is hard for me to evaluate what is going on.
”Anyway, the season is long and Chelsea are still favorites in my eyes.”
Still, the player is also confident his new team are equal to the task, and expects Arsenal to compete for the League this season.
“After the first defeat for us against West Ham, everyone said that we can never win anything big. Now we are being compared to the most
famous Arsenal, who didn’t lose during one season.”
“I just know that we have a team that can fight for the title until last round.”
